Nokia S60 browser - European vs Asian Version
On my nokia 3250, i’ve been using my phone’s browser donwloaded from the Nokia’s Asian website. It was working well. After I formatted my phone last time, I found that I have also deleted the backup file for the s60 browser. So, I got to donwload the files again from the website.
this time I tried the European site of Nokia thinking that my handset was made in Germany and the software available through that website will certainly suit and work better with that of the Asian version.
The interesting fact is that after I installed that European version of the software, it just began to crash and crash, especially when the server was “https://”. It means that the browser was probably experincing problems with the certificates based on the phone and the way s60 browser worked. It just used to hang and I had to close the browser which would take more time than normal times. Even I was not allowed to access to the however menu.
Then I thought that there might be some problem with the regional versions. Then I went to Nokia’s Asia n website and downloaded the software. The file size was about 1.25 MB, a little less sized than the European one. However, after installing this version it is still working good. The suggesion is that NEVER EVER use a software on your handheld that indicated a location. I think it must make some conflict with the device’s operating software.
