Archive for the ‘Default Post’ CategoryWaiting for Opera Mobile’s Next VersionWednesday, November 19th, 2008Waiting for Opera Mobile’s Next Version The Sudden PicnicThursday, August 21st, 2008We have a great picnic though it was not through the whole day and unplanned. Moreover, it was raining heavily for some times in the afternoon and was drizzling all the evening. Yet we enjoyed the charms of the beautiful river just on the outset of our city. It was the place where we’ve been earlier for several times. One thing that we really missed today is that the sunset. However, while at the picnic another friend of mine had called me and he was scorching us all for not informing him about the picnic. We just told that it happened suddenly. However, we enjoyed our tiny picnic as a whole. It was really great! TV games could damage TV recievers?Monday, August 18th, 2008Soon, as I grew up and used to play games like tetris, gaming devices became like a fascination. In those days, handhelds became very popular and several games gained popularity on those mono colour displays. It was only a couple of years later when I found an Atari TV Game player with rock solid games from SEGA like the Contra. But my parents would not allow me to play that much for two reasons, for it could create problems for eyesight and the other it might damage the television system itself. However, I agreed to their first concern about health but denied to the idea that it could damage the tv. Later however, I was manged to make them understand that generally it doesn’t damage the TV and be on their side saying that though it may damage the TV, it’s not going to be a worse incident. Symbian s60 : Need a Settings Backup UtilityMonday, August 11th, 2008I just love Nokia s60 platform and I will be telling it like a robot, always until there is a rival platform for devices with very limited resources. Due to resource constrains and as no platform is preloaded with all necessary fucntions, there are many things that are yet to be added to the platform. This time I feel that the platform could have been better if there were a tool that will enable its user to save the system settings like message settings, profiles, display settings etc and later restore the settings of choice when it is needed or if the user finds a problem with the present setting. This is somewhat like the Dirver rollback function in Windows operating system. With the help of such a settings backup utility, user will easily restore his/her desired settings after they had a soft or hard reset of their phone. This may eventually come useful when minors troubles could be solved just by restoring the selected settings. I wish a developer will understand what I’m saying and make the tool a go. Opera Mini 4.1, Mixed PerformanceFriday, August 1st, 2008Opera Mini has been a great addition to the mobile life. A browser that really help to browse the web in a portable device, especially in a mobile handset that does not have that much physical resources. It is a very good thing to browse Internet in a mobile device because it gives some great benefits which normally a built in mobile browser do no give. Definitely Opera Mini is the best choice for Mobile Internet usage. The first thing that makes it one of the best mobile browsers is it uses a very small amount of data even for large webpages. It will dramatically reduce your Data Cost. For example if a webpage loaded into a web browser like Nokia S60 Browser transfers 200 KB Opera mini may transfer only 30-50 KB. It just depends on the content of the webpage. If you are using opera mini and set images off (because you may only be interested in the text) it may transfer only 10 KB data. Other than this and the common features, there are loads of features like quick connect similar to speed dialing, bookmark synchronization with Opera’s PC version,1 column mobile view to fit texts to the phone screen, full page overview, multiple image quality. The things that I’m enjoying most with the new version (4.1) of Opera Mini that it comes with a more enhanced JavaScript rendering and saving webpage for future use. The symbian version of the software is signed so that you can set not to display certain irritating security warnings each time when the software accessess the file system or connectivity. It also includes a native downloading support. The signed version of the software is very useful. It’s got a native support for downloading files. With the advantages, comes the troubles. The newest version of the software comes with some instabilities. It often happens that the connection gets disconnected throwing an error message. I mean it happen “Often”. Other things that I’m in trouble with it is that when I am about to download a file, it fails very frequently. Most of the time it downloads only a small portion of the file. For instance, last time I tried to download a 1.5 mb software from nokia website but it returned me with a corrupted zip file of 27 KB. Most of the time when the download fails, it downloads only this size of the data. I’ve tested these on some of my friends handsets also. Their feedback shows that they also had the same kind of problems with the piece of software. However, I think the earlier versions are more stable than this and I have installed the older versions that works just fine. Tested with Handset Models: Nokia 3250, N70, N73, Orange Sanyo s750i, Sony Ericcson K800i I should Start another Blog or SiteWednesday, July 30th, 2008I already have a few blogs. And I think that I am becoming a more kingly blogger and web site owner who want to get more and more space in the blogger’s universe. I just want to make more places to express what I am and what I can be and spread the words that I know. The only means in expanding in this virtual universe is to make myself more and more available to the rest of the world. So, it’d be great idea (in fact it’s the best idea I think) to create some more places of mine in this Virtually Unlimited Virtual Universe. Welcome me to the next Reign. |
